Neutered puppy

Post by oconnorjoy »

Bamm Bamm was neutered aprox one month ago. I still catch him "playing" with his stuffed Tweety Bird once in awhile. Is this normal? Should I remove Tweety?

Just guessing based on observations but I think this is a pretty wide spread practice. I have a friend who has a male and female who are both fixed
and the male rountinely tries to mount the female - some of this is a dominance issue, of course, but I've also observed it with other animals. Two of our cats, Ringo and Ruby, have the same kind of relationship and they're both fixed. Ruby actually seduces Ringo to start things going. When
we lived in our old neighborhood, Roxy had a neutered boyfriend who tried to mount her everytime he saw her - don't think that was exactly dominance cause they didn't live together.

I suspect with Bamm Bamm, it's probably residual behaviour and probably impossible to stop cause the source of it is in the brain and not from the other end - if you take away tweety bird, he'll probably just find another target for his amorous moments. I knew someone years ago whose cat was in love with an old watch cap - go figure.....

LOL, poor tweety. My Pom, Spud has a stuffed dumb bell that is his "*beep* toy" I try not to let him get to carried away when he is "loving" it. But it is embarrasing when he drags it out of the toy basket in front of company, and when everyone is saying "oh how cute he is" next thing ya know......, well, let's say he's not as cute as they first thought. ROTFL

The cat I knew who was love with his watch cap got it on while watching NasCar races on TV - in private or in front of company. A little kinky.
