I've got a poll topic, about the kind of vet practice you...

My vet is a one man practice. Anything off hours or beyond his abilities or the scope of his equipment, he refers to others. No overnights there either. He's been a really great vet for us, with fantastic instincts and a great tolerance for me, LOL. For instance, after I lost hubby and the paranoia really soared, he started inviting me to stay and watch during surgeries on my dogs so I'll worry less, and that's worked out wonderfully for everyone concerned. I'm so thrilled to have him.

Vet practice
I go to an office with 2 veterinarians who are brothers. Their father started the practice many years ago, and has since retired. One brother is the surgeon and the other does most of the routine exams. I've been with them for about 23 years now.
I just wish their boarding facility was a little roomier. I don't like having them put Shelby in a cage, but I feel like she's safer there than some of the other boarding facilities around here. Except for the Malibu Pet Hotel, which is booked so far in advance--and is very pricey. If I send my dog on vacation there I would have to stay home because I wouldn't have any money left.

Though both the vets we have used are members of WSAVA, our current vet continues to offer us a standard of service and a level of expertise and experience that we did not find at our previous vet.
Our current vet Dr. Yeoh, has three surgeries in town, and a group of younger vets under him, including his son. We've found that we are very comfortable with them, and have yet to have any doubts as to his diagnosis, and treatment... We also really like the fact that they are very gentle and careful when dealing with our pets... All out three cats are under his care...
