Saw a ridiculous commercial for Paaws

A supplement (contains over 40 ingredients!) that is guaranteed to make an old dog run around like a pup. Even showed before and after video of dogs that could barely walk up a few stairs, then after taking paaws, bounding up two stairs at a time.

I'm guessing the main active ingredient is methamphetamine...

It is a combo of vitamins, minerals, anti-oxidents, digestive supplements, and whatever....developed by a Vet who specializes in aging. There is a AM formula and a PM formula. I'm guessing the $1 a day is for a small dog, so $3 for a large dog could get pretty expensive!

Well, crap, I posted a long post about this, links and all, and it evaporated into an "invalid session". Now it's fussing over edits. Gonna try again, though I'm not gonna bother looking up the links again.

Several months ago, I had checked out this stuff for a friend at work. Seems like just fancy money for some basic supplements, which my dogs already get for a lot less. Glucosamine is probably the most active ingredient causing any "bounce off the walls" effect (though Leilah has vizsla genes instead, hehehe).

But what really got my red flags waving was Dr Carol's claim about being a diplomate in "anti-aging". Hmmm, nothing about that on the avma or their associate's sites. Turns out it seemed to be some mail-order degree (one site had named the orginzation that granted it and I had looked it up), and she's now being investigated by her state's vet board over it. What you want to bet when her site comes back online, there won't be any more mention of this degree.

Now, if she were advertising herself as a holisitic vet, then she'd have peers to critique her, a board to set guidelines, more definitive diplomate programs, etc. But she's not, she's apprantly the first (or only, I don't remember) person to have this degree, which means she's literally peerless, with no checks and balances.

Most of you know that I follow holistic guidelines to feed my critters; Leilah's bloodwork is as better than ever, and staying that way over time, it's working quite well for us. Cool, great, fine and dandy, I know those on this board who think holistic medicine is a ripoff wouldn't argue over that much especially since the improvements have quantified. What some of you may disagree with (and that's fine too) is I think some of these ingredients do have their place in the diets of some dogs , even if they're pushed in an informercial by a woman with dubious credentials. But the cost is over the top, and individual dogs need to have their supplements more tailored when possible. But then again, look what people spend on fancy bottled water, LOL.

BTW, I told my friend to get some Nupro, Prozyme, and glucosamine, for what's probably the same results as Paaws vitamins, and save herself some money.

there are few possibilities, one of them is that while you were drafting the message your dsl line resetted and picked up another ip address.

note: if you are writing a really long message or taking quite some time to finish it up, be sure to (once in a while) hit the preview button....this will reset the session counter....after 1 hour of no board activity (requests from your browser) the session expires to aid in security, will require a relogin.

Don't laugh at me...but I did get suckered into that scam. I PROMPTLY returned it via Registered mail w/return reciept for my refund a few days later.
