Thank you ladies, your thoughts and prayers mean much to me. I'm perlexed and shocked at the suddeness, and saddened that he declined so fast in such a short amount of time.
Cinder was one of my emergency-shift rescues....a very cruel human attempted to hurt him badly with a baseball bat. He suffered head trauma and loss of vision in one eye and later lost his vision in the other. He never was comfortable with touch or petting on his forehead (except for soft kisses). He had a big soft heart and I was always struck by his beauty, especially the baby blue eyes that couldn't see.
When Cody was brought home as a two-week-old, of the (then) 6 cats who surrounded him with curiosity, it was Cinder he crawled to....it was love at first sight...
Cinder took him under his paw from the beginning, taught him all the ropes, and they remained best friends ever since. Even though he was blind, he always knew when Cody was near, they cuddled incessantly.
I miss him fiercely and it is difficult coping with the loss, but I know that he lived in love, security and happiness....
