Please keep my BC kitty in your prayers today.
Please keep my BC kitty in your prayers today.
We are going to the vet's this afternoon. She has let me know it's time. She used to sleep with my youngest daughter (who's now 16) in her crib. I will miss you so very very much, my sweet mama kitty.

oohhhhh....DeVon... {{{huggggggs}}}
It is a very difficult decision to make...but if she is ready, and you are ready...then it is time...hold her in those last few moments and let the love flow beteen you....give her peace in her last moments...and you will feel peace too...
Prayers are with you and your family and your kitty as she crosses over the Rainbow Bridge

Thanks to both of you for your kind words. I am feeling very drained and numb right now. I will always remember her sleeping in the crib with Amber like her little guardian angel.Traci wrote:DeVon, I'm so very very sorry, my heart aches for you and I'm shedding tears with you....

I had to come home and feed the cats after my afternoon shift at the elderly couple's house, and I already miss seeing her so much.

Bless you for knowing her time has come...I am so sorry for your loss...I know how hard it is to do and how empty you must feel. More hugs being sent to you and yours.

Devon, I am so sorry; know it hurts a lot... there is something about the elder ones, all the associations and memories as you say, that makes losing them so hard, even when we know it's time...
Speaking of memories and associations: I had been thinking of you before I read the post, because in an email just yesterday my daughter in Austin said she had sent Raven a certain old blue blanket which I gave her long, long ago in another place and another life (it now seems ) So long ago, in fact, that at first I couldn't remember... then as I was falling asleep I did remember: it had been a blanket of her daddy's and mine, and I gave it to her for the apartment she and her daughter had just moved into in our suburb of Cleveland, a few weeks before that all came to an end for us... I was very pleased to think of the blanket going to your sweet pets there in Kansas... Isn't it strange (to us mortals anyhow) how things tie together sometimes... I will continue to keep you and yours in my thoughts, dear DeVon. Take care.

Your daughter obviously gets her compassion and kindness from her mother! I was so delighted to get her e-mail. I told her I am picking up my digital from the shop (had to be repaired) and I was going to take pictures of Raven on the blanket! She is such a sweet old dog, been neglected most of her life (the oldest daughter never took good care of her), and is in the early stages of CHF, but is still going strong. She loves her new 'blankie'! Only problem is she usually ends up sharing it with someone else!E's wrote:Speaking of memories and associations: I had been thinking of you before I read the post, because in an email just yesterday my daughter in Austin said she had sent Raven a certain old blue blanket which I gave her long, long ago in another place and another life (it now seems )
