Java...
Just got some results from her emergency Vet visit last night...not looking too good.
Oh gosh...where to start.
Her eye first. She has a prolapsed iris, which is where the iris sticks out from the cornea. There is treatment, but very expensive, so Dr would rather remove the eye.
Her blood work was about the same, except higher pancreas levels, which could be pancreatitis, which would explain why she had trouble palpating her abdomen. And she wants to take abdominal xrays to check for cancer, which could be causing some of her symptoms also. She also has some enlarged lymph nodes. Full body xrays would be nice also, but expensive.
For now, we will do abdominal xrays and the pancreas test...and see from there whether we go further or let her go. :'(

I'm so sorry, Marty, what awful news. Please post an update when you know more - thoughts and prayers are with Java that the abdominal problem is nothing serious or that can be treated successfully. (((HUGS)))

Re: Java...
Thank you, she is home now for a day or so. Dr wants to wait for the results from the lymph node aspiration before going ahead with eye surgery.

Re: Java...
Well, cytology on the lymph node does not show cancer...it is just inflamed. So we will go through with the eye removal surgery...scheduled for tomorrow. I guess that is good news...never walked this road before! So, prayers and good vibes would be welcome for both of us!

Good luck, Marty, here's hoping for a smooth surgery and recovery.
Did they send a PLI sample out for the pancreatitis rule-out?

Yes...all clear on that.
Nother question about e-collars. I like Davet's for scratching, but it may not protect the eye, if I need to use it for that. Can you cut one of those down (e-collar) to make it shorter, yet still protect? She kept tripping over it, then sat down and wouldn't move, so we gave up. She is not a big dog, and that seemed excessive for her.
