To all those who have lost a beloved furbaby
And it seems as if there have been a lot of us on the board, and particularly a lot of unexpected and unexplained loss. The pain remains raw for so long afterward. I think of each and every one of you when I think of my Willow. I wanted to share this poem with all of you who have lost a precious furfriend....
When you walk through a storm,
Hold your head up high,
And don't be afraid of the dark.
At the end of a storm,
There's a golden sky,
And the sweet silver song of a lark.
Walk on through the wind, Walk on through the rain,
Though your dreams be tossed and blown...
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone.......
You'll never walk alone.
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart,
And you'll never walk alone.......
You'll never walk alone.

I remember it too - also thought of Kate Smith during WWII, but this reference says 1945:
"You'll Never Walk Alone" is a show tune from the 1945 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, Carousel...
Could be both - we find so many things these days that have 'roots' in more than one venue...
Be this as it may, thanks Tina: IMO the quote is very apt for this thread.

Good grief! At least Shirley Jones was on the list - I think that's the version I remember, but I've probably heard many of the others. My mom loved Pat Boone, so I probably heard that one at one time or another, but the version I remember was definitely sung by a woman.

Yes, that is a wonderful song. As you said, Tina, you miss your babies for a very long time. Not a day goes by that I don't have a sad moment, wishing I could hold my angels just one last time.
Another song dear to my heart is one Traci sent to me long ago when I lost one of my kitties. It's the theme to the movie, "Casper, the Friendly Ghost". That song always makes me thing of my little angels. I have the song on my computer but don't know how to post it on here. If anyone knows how, I'd love to share it.
I hope no one experiences any more losses for awhile and that your dear furbabies are well and happy.

My kitties Shadow and Tank enable me to enjoy my existence and brighten my world. And may my angels, Nikki, Sparky, Buster, Frosty, Snowball, Leo, Foghorn, and Humane Society kitties be playing in the sunshine at the Rainbow Bridge.
