update on Pumpkin

Post by Shannon's Mom »

The news is good. Pumpkin tested negative to the snap test for FELV/FIV, HW and AG and had his kitten shots. Booster shots and neutering will be in a month. He is a healthy 7.2 lbs. at 5-6 months of age.

I had a corneal fluorescein test done on his eye and it is an old scar on the cornea which does not bother his eyesight and the eye itself is fine. No virus or bacteria was found in the eye. It could have been gotten in a fight, or just by running through bushes or thorns.

So, now that his care has begun and the vet has a baseline for him, he is home for good. He will have Shannon's vet and I'm sure Shannon approves.

Awwwww, wonderful news!!! Please do keep an eye on it though, just to make sure it it does not worsen - hopefully it will improve as Pumpkin ages, but keep an eye on it nonetheless.

Hooray! Peg, I'm so happy to hear the good news about Pumpkin. :D

I'm sure he will give you so much joy. You can get closer while spending those winter nights together. I hope you don't get that much snow again, though. :)

Peg has been having trouble loading pictures of her Pumpkin puss on here. So I'll include them below.

What an adorable orange boy he is! Congratulations, Peg, on your new "little man"!

Wow! A beautiful "golden boy" - obviously lots of smarts and personality. I am so glad things turned out well. Have fun, Pumpkin and household! :D

He's a cutie! He looks just like my grandmother's cat Kiki, who went to The Bridge many many years ago when I was about 10.
