My friend's dog, Sandy

Post by Tambrey »

A girl I graduated with has been posting updates on her Facebook....

Thias past Sunday
Trying to decide what to do with our beloved golden retreivor. Her quality of life is going down hill and she can't walk anymore. It's going to be a tough week with decisions....

Sandy is now 15 years old. We got her in Shelbyville, Tenn. the year Colton was born. I wish she had 3 more years, but getting hit by a car and breaking her back, has not helped her weak legs over the years. Yes, it's sad. The kids are truly bummed, they grew up with her. ...

She is deteriating very fast...no longer can hold her bowels and is not happy. We have to lift her to get her up. Going to wait and see this week.
Monday
It's not easy but we need to do what is right for her. I am just not ready to say goodbye,,probably never will be. The vet is coming to our home thursday and we will say our goodbyes. Sad times ahead ..
This Morning
Thank you Sandy for 15 great years of loving our family and growing up with our kids. You are a beautiful Golden Retriever who has had a wonderful life with us. We love you and will miss you dearly.

 I certainly understand those feelings as Honey was 15. There was nothing easy about it, except to think of her and not make her suffer for my sake.

I wish the family peace in this decision...and beautiful memories of a treasured pet that will always be with them.

Goldens are my #1 weak spot when it comes to furry friends. My deepest condolences on the loss of what was no doubt a truly precious friend.

Thank you....I will let Sue know....Sandy did not make it to Thursday when the vet was going to come out to their place....Sandy died peacefully early Wednesday morning....
They will be picking up her urn tomorrow...but Sue did write this to her friends this evening....
We will have her urn friday. This will bring closure for us. Don't cry, she is sitting at the Rainbow Bridge and at peace :)

"God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform." In a way it's better that she went to The Bridge on her own. This way her humans won't be blaming themselves for taking her life. I hope they are able to find peace in her passing knowing that she is no longer in pain and hanging on just for them.

It's so hard to lose a furry friend. The pain is tremendous and I most certainly feel and understand their pain.
