Re: Doc is in surgery
They want to send Doc home today! That kind of threw me for a loop but they said he is doing so well, eating and drinking, using the litter box. They removed his IV this morning so he will be on oral meds. They are leaving his esophogostomy tube in "just in case" he develops any inappetence. They
think he will do better in the home environment. What a difference from a few days ago! Go Doc!

That's our boy! He is one TOUGH critter!
Re: Doc is in surgery
I understand that he can do better at home, but it's only been two days post-op, and just want to be sure....will you be able to monitor the feeding tube in place? (also see PM) - did they tell you when to expect it to be removed? (like within a week, for example)

Re: Doc is in surgery
Yes, they are going to give me instructions on monitoring the feeding tube and they know I have dealt with one before, so I think that is why they feel confident sending him home. The bottom line is that if I choose not to they can and will keep him OR if anything isn't going well I can take him back. So we are going to give this a go and see how it goes. He will have to go back in about a week to have the tube removed IF he continues to eat well. He will also have to hove the staples removed from his surgery site.

Re: Doc is in surgery
I will. I was suppose to go meet my daughter about an hour away tomorrow to do a photo shoot for my grandson, but she's agreed to come up this way so I don't have to be gone too long. What sucks is I was suppose to go visit my daughter in Florida and stay with my granddaughter this weekend while they went out of town. I haven't decided if I am going or not but it doesn't seem likely now. He's in good hands!

He's home!! He ate! He snuggled on my lap! He hates his cone of shame!
I will post pics in Debbie's Cloud....but Doc can still use some prayers, he has a lot of healing and adjusting to do!

Haven't stopped including Doc in our prayers! We'll be brewing up some good healing potions this week and will send the vibes Doc's way.
