Thank you Sue...My Willow was beautiful, both inside and out. I've been crying since coming home tonight because it is just too "quiet" here without here and she wasn't a rowdy cat. I can't eat a meal here because Willow always sat next to me when I ate. It just seems wrong to eat without her here. I thought I was doing better a couple days ago but I think I was wrong. I think I've cried more in the past two days....

I scanned in Shannon's pictures - the one with the garden setting that was very small and another one similar to the one I put in here earlier. Shannon was looking a slightly different direction.

You can see what a beautiful, dainty little girl Shannon is. She looks so sweet, you just want to reach into the pictures and hug and pet her. Peg, it's easy to see why you miss her so very much.

Oh my gosh, Shannon's a dilute tortie, too! Just like Izzy and Willow. I can't believe these three cats who look so similar had such similar personality traits.

Thank you, Sue, for posting the pictures. Shannon was classified as a domestic shorthair, tabby with calico mix. She was grey and brown with light spots on her legs and a ringed tail.

Shannon almost didn't live at all. My neighbor's wife found her all alone in the woods at the Doris Duke Estate in Sommerville NJ where she worked. She didn't know if the mother abandoned her or she was the last to be taken away but she never found the mother and brought Shannon home. She was so small she was fed with an eyedropper. Shannon spent the first 9 years of her life outside. I actually stole her from my neighbor when I saw her limping in the snow. At the age of two, kids had almost severed her left rear leg. So making it to 20 years of age was special in its own. I had her indoors for the last 11 years as my baby.

Tina, Willow is beautiful and she does look very much like Shannon. I am doing the same thing of reliving that night and wondering if I could have done something or if I did something wrong but I am so greatful Shannon was mine for these eleven years. After my Noodles died, I swore I would never love another animal like I did him. But Shannon was nothing like him. She found her own place in my heart and I will love her forever.

I think I just smiled for the first time in a week! I got a mental picture of Shannon meeting Foghorn Chicken at the bridge. I would love to be a fly on the wall for that meeting!

Peg, I'm glad that you got a smile, thinking about Foghorn meeting Shannon at the Bridge. I'll bet it was so funny!

I never posted much about Foggy. He was a great little rooster we rescued from a tree on our place. I don't know what kind of chicken he was (I'm pretty ignorant about chickens), but he was beautiful - all different colors. Foghorn was outdoors in the fall and we brought him inside in the winter. Out in the fenced yard, Foggy ran everywhere - never walked. (I'll never figure out how he made it up into that tree!)

Foghorn went to the Bridge about a month after we got Nikki and Buster. We had him in a large cage in the house, and Buster and Nikki were constantly checking him out. Foggy didn't know what to think of that. It was comical to see them, both kitties and rooster no doubt thinking, "What is THAT?".

Peg, thanks for mentioning Foghorn. It brought back some happy memories. I pray the day will come when I'll see ALL my babies again.

I am glad you got a smile Peg. They seem to be a rare treat to some of us lately.

I am a sucker for dilutes. The woman who works with the rescue org here that does the pet loss support group said that was unusual and a lot of people weren't attracted to them. I find that odd...who couldn't love such a beautiful coloring! I guess Willow was technically a "torbie" (tabby/tortie) as her legs were stripped. Her tail was what got me...it was a bobbed corkscrew and I just loved it. It was so cute the way it bobbed instead of swished. Boy I miss her little quirks...and her warmth on a chilly night

Izzy has a tail quirk as well. The tip of it was broken and had healed before I got her, and it sort of juts off at a 45* angle. Doesn't seem to bother her, even if I touch it, and she never chews at it or anything. But when she runs her tail through my hand and I feel it, it's nice to know her quirks and know she's mine.

Do you have pictures of Willow's tail? I don't think I've ever seen quite what you mean.

Silver...I'll see what I can find tomorrow and post one for you. In most of the photos you can't really see the twist..it just looks like a fluffball. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry. Glad to see your Izzy and my Willow had another commonality.
