Yes, Traci, Callie has gone over the Bridge. Hubby held her on his lap the entire time at the vet's waiting for testing and was with her to hold her as she left....he said she came to us a sickly snotty eyed kitten and she left us the same way :(

The vet at the hospital went over all her numbers with my husband and her kidneys were in total failure and she said it looks like it had been going on for a while now.

He is calling our local vet this afternoon to ask why?!

We have lost total faith there. Yes they now have the equipment but I don't think they know how to use and read it.

My heart just breaks for you, Tambrey, I am so very truly sorry. Callie was such a beautiful precious little girl, I know she had a wonderful and very much loved life with you and hubby.

I couldn't tell either before...so sorry for your loss, Tambrey. I know how much each one means to you. Safe trip, Callie...run free with Honey - she loves kitties.

You are going to think I am nuts, but, no...YOU will understand this:

I used to take Honey out in the country and now when I go out there to see friends I look at the endless fields and beautiful hills and mts. and I picture Honey running and leaping there. Only she is not leaping like an earthbound dog...she is bounding thru the fields and leaping 10, 20 feet in the air...in slow motion like she's floating. She is really happy and free and meets me out there. Now I will imagine Callie with her when I go again...the 2 of them playing like gravity doesn't exist and joyful.

Thanks everyone...it was strange lastnight to not have her around at feeding time :(

The pictures...I really like the last two especially because the one she just looks so peaceful and content sunning in the window...and the last one...she rarely showed her belly like that...she always was more reserved and aloof...but it was ahot summer day and she found a cool spot in front of a breeze from the fan, laying on the dining room table....

I just had a chance to look at Callie's pictures (our firewall at work blocked them and I couldn't see them when I posted). She was absolutely beautiful. I love all the pics. I know you will miss her terribly. This is without a doubt the hardest part of having pets - I miss all of teh ones I've lost so much and all the time.

Love endures.

This says it for me too. The two pets I have now are such a great comfort, so bonded and devoted to me... I worry about their future and at the same time miss the ones who have gone on before. I like MomPaws' image of them all bounding through the lush meadows - `Eowyn the GSD bounded too when she had the chance, all 100 lbs of her :) so I can picture her being one of the crowd welcoming Callie...

We humans are very lucky to have these forums and each other, are we not?

I completely agree with you Dot. I feel like so many of you are close friends even though we have never really met. This is a great place to share our joys and sorrows, and we are truly lucky to have a place like this.
