I mentioned that they should be visiting him....maybe their touch and voices is what he needs right now....kitkat wrote:They are concerned that the visits or rather us leaving would stress him further... they said, they'd talk about it again today.
No, he is not diabetic. His glucose dropped post-surgery.
Pneumonia was a complication they feared. (aspiration-pneumonia - increased risk with the type of surgery)

Re: Emregency Prayer Request
Well, I'd have to agree and encourage owners to visit their pets when they're hospitalized. I also agree with the vet who may feel the pet needs rest (particularly in breathing-distressed patients), but in critical situations, an owner's presence can increase the pet's desire to heal.

Safe journey across the bridge {{{DYorkie}}}kitkat wrote:and then came a phonecall that the little yorkie took a turn for the worse, started coughing up blood, his CO2 levels went really high, and he was going to choke. And I told them to please put him to sleep humanely.
He was so cute. He was only 8 years old. He would come to me, look up at me and put his feet on my knees to pick him up. When I would , he'd kiss me on the nose and I complained of his stinky breath.
Every morning he'd come for his one blueberry when I had my cereal or oatmeal.
He would bark at all the repairmen who would come close to me, especially if they were handing me a bill.
I only had him for 4 years...

I'm so very sorry, I hoped he would have an uneventful recovery. My heart and prayers are with her during this difficult time....
