Prayer for Forest/Grassland Fire Victims-Man and Two Dogs

Post by Sue and Kids »

I'm asking for prayers for a family that were the victims of a forest/grassland fire near Hot Springs, South Dakota a few days ago. A lightning strike and winds started a terrible fire in the middle of the night. I don't even know the victims' names, but the husband awoke to find flames almost at their door. He sent his wife off in one vehicle. He went and grabbed their outdoor dog and went inside to get their indoor dog. When he got to the door, it was too late, and all three perished. I know many people would have said he should have left the dogs behind. But my pets are my children and I would have done the same thing. But I'd like to say a prayer for that man who gave his life to save his loved ones and also for the doggies.

I'd also like to say a prayer for his wife, who barely made it out alive. She is devastated. She has lost her husband, her dogs, her home, and all her possessions. What a terrible burden to bear! I know her husband is in Heaven with the dogs, but she has to carry on.

Please say a prayer also for the wildlife victims of this fire.

Thank you.

Sue and my kids
My kitties Shadow and Tank enable me to enjoy my existence and brighten my world. And may my angels, Nikki, Sparky, Buster, Frosty, Snowball, Leo, Foghorn, and Humane Society kitties be playing in the sunshine at the Rainbow Bridge.

My prayers are with this family, what a terrible tragedy. I know what it's like to lose everything in a fire, and am forever grateful I never lost a pet in a fire.

I too, would not hesitate to risk my own life for the sake of my pets. They are my children.

It's heartwarming to hear of others who won't leave their dogs behind. It's so sad that it turned out the way it did, my heart goes out to the wife.
