Serge the golden is alive...

...But please keep us all in your thoughts this next few days, OK? Last night son-in-law was destroying wasp nests on the deck, opened the gate so he'd have an escape route... forgot to close the gate... DD not knowing gate was open, let Sergio out. Both humans were online, didn't notice the dog hadn't asked to come in for the night... At 1:30 a.m. the doorbell rang: young woman nextdoor, taking her boyfriend home, had hit Serge when the dog ran in front of her car before she saw him...

The man friend happens to a vet tech: he examined Serge and so did DD and SiL... they determined that Serge's injuries were not life-threatening and he wasn't in pain. So DD and SiL waited till morning to call me (thank goodness - considering the mood I was in yesterday re this past year, I'm not sure I could've survived being called in the middle of the night.) Anyway, we cleared out the cargo area of my minivan (DD's pickup is too high and SiL's car has no room.) DD, grandson and I took Serge to be xrayed and examined.... As I say, they think he's going to be OK... the rest of the info I will but on Canine Health.
