I was going to get her a new bed, but then found a cute little couch bed for $14.00 at Walmart that Sammie would fit into better than the little round bed he has, and she likes Sammie anyways, so I gave her Sammie's bed with his smell on it...it is softer also...and she has already checked that out too!
She has new food and water dishes, and I got a shallow roasting pan that has a shorter edge to use for a litter box for her, and regular clay litter...I usually use clumping but I figure if she lost her balance and fell into it, I do not want any clumping in her mouth and nose, or the dust in her eyes...I put a board in front of the toilet, which is beside the bathtub, so she cannot get back into that corner!!
He said her ears were free of mites, just dirty, so he cleaned them...he gave her Strongid (sp?) for worms, and Clavamox twice a day...
I wondered how a tom could break a pelvis, but I figure as fragile as she has gotten, it could possibly happen...who will ever know what happened to her...
He said if she is pregnant, she will probably abort them as her pelvis will not allow the support they need
that is sad, but if she starts to show signs of pregnancy, I think I would rather have him do surgery and abort them than have her go through the natural process and the pain associated with that...He also said there may be some nerve damage, but to wait a couple of weeks to see what happens on her own...and I remember when my brother compound fractured his arm, he too had nerve damage...his nerves were frayed when the bones broke through...but it healed okay and he finally did get feeling back, so I hold out home for Snickers as well...
She is very hungry, so that is a good sign!...I put down a handful of the dry kibble she is used to, and a can of soft food on top of that...she was ravenous and eating greedily on that when I left her...
I will keep you posted...Sammie is carrying on outside since he was me bring Snickers inside...he will now be camped out at the bathroom door!
And we have our first home football game tonight, so I gotta go get ready...I need to leave in a little over an hour to go get DS DGF at her grandparent's house...
Thanks for the prayers for Snickers...please pray for a successful recovery for her...I do not want to think of a deteriorating quality of life yet...
