Last Monday I found Peety in the yard. He is about 10yrs old. A beautiful pale yellow long haired cat. I don't know if one of the horses kicked him or if he was hit by a car. He is alive though. His front left shoulder seems to be just gone and it also looks like his teeth on that side got knocked out. He has been trying to gimp around on three legs and can even jump up on the bed! But I can't get him to eat or drink and my boyfriend won't give me the money to take him to the vet-I don't work so I don't have any money and i've asked everyone I could for financial help and it just seems like the answer I keep getting is, if he lives, he lives, if not, he dies...so I have been basically force feeding him gatorade to try and keep him hydrated but i'm afraid it just won't be enough. My boyfriend told me to take the .45 and shoot him-that he was 10yrs old and he should just be put out of his misery. This cat does not want to die!Peety is laying in my lap right now-rubbing his head against my hand and i'm crying so hard I can't hardly type. So please pray for Peety. He's a good kitty. I don't know what else to do. Thank you.

My prayers are with you and Peety.

Just get up and go to a vet on your own. No one needs to know if they're not willing to help. Explain your financial situation and work out a payment plan. Maybe you can work the costs off there at the vet's. If it's in Peety's best interest to cross the Rainbow Bridge, let the vet handle it and at least Peety will go peacefully.

No doubt he's a fighter but he needs medical help and he needs it now. He's counting on you, please get him to a vet.

Get your kitty to an emergency vet RIGHT THIS MINUTE, forget your boyfriend and get kitty to the vet NOW. Explain to the vet your situation, and sell something of value to pay for the vet costs.

Sorry, but your boyfriend should be ashamed of himself, if he doesn't care about how much you care for your kitty, what does that say about how he cares about YOU?

Forget him, get kitty to an emergency vet IMMEDIATELY!

Traci I was thinking the same thing...first...kitty NEEDS to see a vet to be helped one way or another...payments can usually be worked out...then BF needs to be set out to pasture!!

kshme...YOU deserve better...YOU know you do...money or not...there are places you can go...Monday....go look for a job...put our resumes everywhere...if you do not have one, go to your local community college and thay have someone there who can probably help you get one together...

ANY job is better than sitting in the situation you are in...it will be YOUR first step to freedom...

If you need to...get to a shelter...someone there can help you for sure...

BUT TODAY...get kitty to a VET...
In the meantime, prayers for you and Peety that things get better for both of you...SOON!

I've been thinking the same thing.........relationships are definitely not built around such crude and uncaring behavior. It will only get worse!

Please, Petey is depending on you to get him the care he needs.

Your prayers must have worked. Pete is eating and drinking on his own and my boyfriend has agreed to even go to the vet with us! Thank you all from the bottom of my soul and may God bless each and every one of you in the most special way! Yeah, i'm still crying, but this time they are tears of joy! Also, after this ordeal, Pete is now officially a housecat! My other big baby of 10yrs. (Moe-moe) has even been grooming Pete because he just hasn't been able to-and this is the cat that hates everything but me! I was amazed! Again, thank you. I'll let you know how things go.
