Prayers for Screech

Post by Tambrey »

I talked with my brother today, and lastnight, his granddaughter found their cat, Screech, laying on the floor, dead...

She came to tell Grandpa that, "that cat in there is just too funny...she is laying there with her eyes open and not moving"...Lily is about 5 years old, well, when Charles went to check, Screech was gone, and probably had been for close to an hour or so...

She had been fine and playing with them a little over an hour before that...he thinks she may have taken a fall as she was laying on the floor by the wardrobe...he said her and another cat would lay up there all the time and groom each other, and sometimes the grooming sessions were quite intensive, and he thinks she fell not expecting to, and broke her neck...

So please pray that Screech did not suffer in her fall, or whatever happened to her, and that she has made it safely across the Rainbow Bridge...

I have to go find that poem now and Charles wants to read it to his granddaughters (he also has Paige who is eight) this evening...they were both pretty upset lastnight...

Thank you ladies...
It is just so strange how she suddenly just is gone...she has been with us for over ten years...she was my nephews favourite cat, and he even had his senior pictures taken with her in his arms...and Steve reminds me of the Incredible Hulk...big boy with this little cat with HUGE eyes snuggled under his arms...

He named her Screech because she was a loud little kitten, but also her big eyes reminded him of a screech owl...

She will be missed terribly by the family and her other kitty friends who live on in the household...

thanks Lisa and Jodi...

I was not there, but he as telling me on the phone...my brother had his arms full literally lastnight with both girls upset, his wife crying and he had to hold his infant grandson because all the women in the house were too upset...plus they have other cats and they were curious as well...

He said Paige did not sleep well lastnight, and his wife said she did not either...

Oh this is so sad! And coming right after so much upset... My heart goes out to all of you. I really don't know which gets to me the most, the misery of dealing with a sick or injured pet one is pretty sure will not recover, or having one go with no warning at all... Probably this latter, and when there are children in the household... well, as I say, my heart goes out to them. The sweet Rainbow Bridge legend does fit so well at times like this... we are fortunate to have it, aren't we.

Thank you E's....It has been a rough past couple of weeks...but no time to slow down much...

my grandmother passing away, and hers was a long drawn out existence in the last few years...and our other brother in hospital with a sinus infection so bad his face was red and swollen and antibiotics at home were not working, so he gets IV antibiotics until tomorrow when he might be able to go home...
And DH and DS and I are busy trying to get things done here at home that we have been putting off, because we are going through foster/adoption classes, and with the new way our state does it...rather than getting done with all the classes THEN doing the homestudy...they do it WHILE we are in class  and could start as soon as 3 weeks...we have been remodeling, paing being stripped...ceilings being torn down...and now we are going to have a social worker come to our home and make sure it is safe for kids....   yeah...we need to get busy FAST so it is at least presentable...

I feel like my head is spinning these days...but my house is beginning to come into some sort of order...thanks to a wonderful site about SHEs (Sidetracked Home Executives) http://www.shesintouch.com
They have helped me keep my sanity through alot of this...and still keep going forward...

I am glad we have the rainbow bridge story...I hope Charles and his family were able to find some peace and rest after reading it...
