THose who used to go to the Acme Board will remember Furfeather (Robin) and her dogs Rachel and Magellan. Rachel went to the bridge two years ago. Today Magellan joins her. Here they are in their favorite spot and a poem I wrote for Furfeather.
From Magellan. to my Mom, If you can
Mom, If you can,
Take me to our bridge one last time.
i Know I cannot walk, but I am small and light.
Let me nestle in your arms, like a puppy.
Mom, If you can,
Let me smell the smells I knew so well,
Let memories of better times fill my head,
Let me remember Rachel and Merlin.
Mom, If you can,
Let me drink once more the cool spring waters,
Let the breezes blow my fur and ease my mind,
Let me visit my favorite spot one more time.
Mom, If you can,
Then take me to the vet, where healing has always been,
Let him ease the pain I have with blissful sleep,
Let me go to sleep in your arms, one last time
Mom, If you can.
