Shrine

Post by jdf »

ashes on the mantle
a shrine of what remains
red leash and blue collar
four cards from friends

two footballs and a cookie
a photograph in profile
a shooting star orchid
and a single silver bell

do you know
when I say
your name

do you know
when I wish you
good night

do you know
when I whisper
I love you

jdf, this is beautiful...I'm picturing Roxy in her collar and leash now, and shedding a tear or two for all of you.

Thank you, Yzma. We lost Roxy last March 7th and we still miss her terribly. She was a wonderful, sweet dog.

Thanks, Magnum's Mom and Athena. I often think about you and Magnum and your kind words of support after we lost Roxy. It helps ease pain to know that Roxy has so many friends. We're doing okay - happy memories are becoming more frequent than sad ones. Thank you for caring so much about Roxy... Jim

jdf,

You bet I care about Roxy, and you, and Nancy, too! I'm ahead of you by 2.5 years in the gireving process and not a days go by that I don't miss Magnum. First thing in the morning, Athena and I go out to his grave to enjoy my morning tea and say. "Good morning" to Magnum. During the day, I bring Athena out to run free as the wind on a beautiful golf course that reminds me of the green grass at Rainbow Bridge. I had hoped that Magnum could walk there, but he never got to do it. Every night I say "Good night sweet Angel," to Athena and "Good night Magnum, sleep with the Angels." Both are my Angels, each very unique and as different from one another as possible.

You would have laughed if you could have seen how fast Athena was running today on he golf course in huge round circles. She was so full of energy and jumped so high over stone walls it maade me wish we could able so young and full of it.

I am happy you are able to think happy thoughts again.
