Trouble Bladder
I wasnt sure what to put topic... Anyway my mom told me that she found out that i used to feed her from recalled food (it was year ago) and she was concern that might be a reason why trouble is having a problem with her bladder and My mom call the vet and ask her about it and vet said she doesnt think it could be a recalled food that caused problem with bladder (there might be possible with kidney problem since it so close to bladder i think?) and the vet said that when i came back to Mount Pleasant and i can give them a call and have them do special blood test to make sure kidney is working right and that it not damage.
So I was wondering could recalled can affect her since i used to feed her and she has a problem with bladder? And also Should i have trouble get blood test to make sure kidney is working right and not damage since it like last year and vet think that they dont think it was recalled?
Sorry so long lol

Re: Trouble Bladder
There is a particular thread for this but I am sure this will be reposted on it and a link to show where it went if they feel it should go there.
From what I know the food that was recalled was this year and the dates were given for the batches that were tainted. If you fed your cat from something that was made from last year I would have to say that there wasnt a problem back then.
If "Trouble" is having problems and they suspect kidney please DO go see vet ASAP and get him tested. The longer you wiat the more damage can be done. He might just have a problem with kidney that isnt related to the food but either way you should seek help NOW.

Re: Trouble Bladder
I would agree....do not have your Mom ait for you to get home to take Trouble to the vet...bladder or kidney infections are very painful and easily taken care of with most antibiotics...
but blood work and urine samples need to be taken to determine exactly what is going on with Trouble...
Please ask your Mom to take Trouble NOW and ask the vet about payments if need be....
Let us know how things are going!

Re: Trouble Bladder
my mom suspect trouble might have kidney problem with bladder problem... No infections that i know of or i would have take trouble to vet... But i moved to Shelby Twp which it like 3 hours from mount pleasant.. I still dont know which two i should take (there was two Cat Only Vet) But I just wanted to know
Re: Trouble Bladder
a kidney or bladder trouble IS an infection in one or the other, and if not stopped early enough can cause permanent damage...Trouble NEEDS to see a vet and get tests done to determine what is causing the trouble s/he is having and what to do about it
(sorry, I cannot remember if Trouble is a guy or gal!)

Re: Trouble Bladder
I used to live in Utica, which is right next to Shelby Township (live in Waterford now, about a half hour away). There are lots and LOTS of good vets in that area, including feline-only vets.
http://www.thekittyclinic.net/ -- These guys are in Clinton Township, which isn't too far from where you are, and they LOVE their cats. There are two very qualified vets, and all they do is care for cats. I know a couple of people who use them and are always very happy. I have no idea what their pricing is, though. They're at 19 mile and Garfield road.
http://www.serenityanimal.com/ -- They have a 5-star user rating on the Yellow Pages website, which is the highest you can get. They're at 15 mile and Schoenherr.
There's also the Shelby Veterinary Hospital at 26 and Van Dyke. My grandma takes her cat and dog there. Their number is (586) 781-8888. That one might be closest to you, but I don't know anything about their level of care, though grandma likes them, so they must be at least halfway decent.
And the Yellow Pages will have even more vets close by your house. There's no reason to take the cat all the way back to Mt. P for veterinary care. There are plenty of qualified vets in this area. If you need any more help, let me know.

Re: Trouble Bladder
I have been a little confused about what you are trying to say. Are you saying you fed one of the newly recalled foods a year ago? It should have been safe then. I think there would be another reason for kitty's problems. Either scenario would require a Vet visit, and I urge you to do that.

Re: Trouble Bladder
Trouble Has a test done on her bladder from last month and there was no crystal and blood in her urine but she can hold it in for 2 days straight and so that why she was on med to make her bladder stronger... Trouble is a girl... Kitty Clinic sound pretty good to me i have to check it out...
Yea i am saying that i fed one of the recalled a year ago... So that why i ask if it worth it to get her kidney test done to make sure there is no damage from the recalled food..
Sorry I didnt make it clearer and explain more

Re: Trouble Bladder
I do not think there is too much to worry about from the food recall if you only fed it a year ago...
but if she is continuing to have urinary issues, it would be worth taking her to the Kitty Clinic and have them take a peek at her...

Re: Trouble Bladder
Okay thank for helping me to stop worrying about recalled food
I will have to talk to vet and see if they are available to see trouble just to check on her
