my husband and i are going away for 2 weeks in july, and i'm starting to get worried about my kitties, nickel and dime. they'll be staying with my parents, who have never had pets. nickel and dime have visited my parents a few times, and love having a bigger place to run. they're just 9 months old, so i guess they adjust well. but i'm worried that once they see that we're not around, that they'll act up and my parents won't immediately know how to handle them. my worst fear is that they'll manage to shoot out the door when someone opens it, and try to "find" us. they'll have the litterbox from home, and i'll ask my parents to stick to their normal feeding schedule. anything else i can do to make them feel secure?
thanks in advance

Re: cat care while i'm away
I'd DEFINATELY take them over for a visit or two before I left. Just to make sure the cats have been exposed to your parents home and know their surroundings. you don't want to leave and have the kitties think you abandoned them there. I personally would be scared to death that one would get out and run off looking for home.
The more secure they feel at your parents the better they should do. Yep, I'd definately go visit your parents and take the kitties with you for awhile. Let them look around and sniff around and see you there with them.
