Frequent Vomiting

Post by Melsyboo »

Hello all. I have 2 cats. 1 is 9 years old and the other is 3. Yesterday the 3 year old started vomitting quite frequently. It is in very small amounts and kind of milky/foamy in substance. The older cat vomited once right after eating. I am thinking they got a "bad" can of food? The 3 year old is still running around like a nut and acting quite normal. This morning before I left for work, she was drinking water. After I left, my mother told me she vomited 2 more times in small amounts. I told her to keep an eye on her to make sure she is ok and still using the litter box. If it was the food, would it take a day or 2 to get out of her system? I don't want to rush to the vet and have to spend $ on xrays and whatnot. Of ocurse if she were lethargic and not herself I would immediately take her, but she is acting normal. Any ideas would be helpful! If she continues like this all day today, then I will call the vet. Thanks!

What is the brand of the canned food, and have you checked the expiration date? What is concerning is that both cats vomited, so you need to rule out the cause...was it the food or something else they were given or had gotten into (i.e., plants, etc).

If the vomiting continues past this afternoon, don't wait to get them BOTH to your vet, in the meantime, cease feeding the suspect food and feed a high quality food, in small amounts. If any other symptoms present, get them to your vet right away.
