Hair loss

Post by JaJaJoey »

Joey has been losing a lot of hair lately. I'm not talking like so serious that he's got these big huge bald spots. But He's got a sorty teeny tiny patchiness on his bum at the base of the tail. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

This happened to my Chessa last year, also at the base of her tail. I was very concerned, so I took her to the vet, who said it was simply dry skin. The vet recommended I put Vitamin E oil on her skin in the spot that she was scratching. You can buy it at Walmart for very cheap. I did that for a week and soon enough the fur grew back, and now you can't even tell that she had a bald spot there. So hopefully it's nothing serious for Joey, but your vet could tell you for sure. Good luck!!!

He could be chewing at it unbeknownst to you...and since you posted a few days ago about his crying at night, he could be undergoing stress, whether it is Brandi's passing or something related to his health, when sudden changes occur, it's always best to get your kitty examined by your vet.
