I am sorry for your dilemna. There are two forms to this disease, wet and dry. It is also sometimes referred to as the purring disease, because to the very end, the cats will purr (cats purr when they are in pain as well as when they are content)

If it were my cat, I would end the suffering, but you and your vet are the ones that are there and know how advanced the disease is and how much the cat is suffering.

Humanely, I can guide your way, medically Traci or davet can help you. Being in rescue, I walk this path often. The hardest part about putting an animal out of misery is that then his pain becomes yours and sometimes the burden is to hard for people to bear.
The smallest feline is a masterpiece.

Brentensmom, when was the diagnosis made, and how exactly, was an ELISA specific titer done? Was this test how your vet diagnosed or are there other accompanying symptoms? How old is your kitten? What is the nature of his not being able to walk, is it weakness and lethargy or is it neurological? As for eating, your vet can help you implement either a force feeding regimin at home or place a nasogastric feeding tube so that food is given through a syringe, bypassing the need for chewing, etc)

Was there any other bloodwork performed, x-rays? Any specific enzymes abnormal? Is he anemic?

Anything you can tell us further will help...
