I don't know what to do. My cat, Niko, gets outside a lot even though we try to keep him inside. He's an indoor cat that just likes to go outside! Well, first he was bringing home dead mice, which wasn't THAT big of a deal, 'cause cats catch mice, right? I mean, it was a nusance, but no cause for concern. Then it was mice and the occasional bird (all of which he killed of course.) Then one day while I was out of state in Montana, my family notified me while I was gone that he had brought home a squirrel that he had killed! I couldn't believe it. Now, today, you will not believe what he just brought home...a bunny! A baby bunny! It was the saddest thing watching him die. He was really hurt from Niko attacking him and he layed there and shortly after passed away right before me and my family's eyes. Is there anything I can do to try to prevent him from doing this all the time? The animals he brings home keep getting bigger and bigger. It's crazy! I can't help to think what he'll bring home next! You'd think that trying to keep him inside would be the solution but it's impossible. He darts out anyway, or if windows are open he'll get out that way. If he wants to get out but can't, he'll cry and bug us til he drives us crazy and you just want to kick him out (which is what he wants you to do!) I've thought of putting a bell on his collar but I'm afraid that when he's out that someone might hear his bell and notice him and I don't want to risk anyone taking him. Would that be a concern? He's a beautiful blue-point Siamese. Is it normal for a male cat to do this, at least at this extent?
Any help would be appreciated. I'm at my wits end.
Thank you,
LuvKats

what measures are you taking to keep your cat indoors? how is your cat getting out exactly?
