questions about stray

Post by Guest »

Yesterday I found a stray cat at wal-mart... seeing that it almost got run over several times I decided to take it in. I brought it home and put it in my bathroom (I have two other kitties, so I seperated them because I don't know if the stray is sick). The stray turns out to be female and it looks like she may have recently had kittens. How can I tell if she recently had kittens or if she WILL have kittens?
Also, her hair comes out when I pet her. No bald spots, it's just really loose.
She has a vet appt. tomorrow, but I wanted to see if anyone could help before then.
She has not moved an inch since I brought her in last night, she purrs if I pet her, and will eat if I go in the room, but I haven't seen her drink, and the water bowl is still completely full. SHe has stayed behind my toilet for 12 hours or so...is this normal scared behaviour?

to not eat/drink for that long, no...not normal scared behavior. be sure to describe in detail everything you have noticed to your vet so your examination can be as thorough as possible. be sure to ask lots of "why is she doing this/that" and be sure you understand what they say to you.

good luck with this rescue, keep us updated.
