Visit to Vet for Vaccinations Made my Cat ill

Post by Shady »

Hi all,
I took my cat for his vaccinations today. It's not the first time. But today as soon as we got home he started vomiting. We had to leave when we got home he had vomited and pooed all over the place. He is very lathargic and I'm not sure if this has happend to anyone else.

THanks for any help.

Call your vet immediately. While serious vaccine reactions are rare, they do occur. If your kitty has vomited more than three times and is still lethargic, has a fever or is weak at all, do not hesitate to get him back to your vet or an emergency vet ASAP. In the event of a serious vaccine reaction, the best course is immediate emergency treatment.

When you speak to your primary vet, request that this incident is recorded in kitty's health chart, and make sure the following is included: symptoms, type of vaccine, manufacturer, lot number, expiration date, and site location on the body it was given. Also request that a vaccine-reaction alert notice is clearly noted on kitty's health chart for future reference.
