Homespun Urine Smell Removal Ideas
Homespun Urine Smell Removal Ideas
My youngest kitty, Oz, recently had a urinary tract infection, and as a result, he peed in a couple places in my house on the carpet and on a hardwood floor. He is on the mend now, nearly finished his antibiotic, and he doesn't seem to be wanting to pee in those spots anymore (thank goodness!). Now, I have to try and get the smell out, and I'm not having any luck. I've tried Nature's Miracle from the pet store, and pet odor removal carpet cleaner. I tried Murphy's Oil Soap on the hardwood floor. None of those has seemed to work very well. I realize it may be in the carpet padding, but I REALLY don't want to take up the carpet. And I'm not sure what to do about the hardwood floor. Does anyone have any homespun remedies I might try?

A friend of mine has used Boraxo--Remember the powdered hand soap that comes in a box? Sprinkle on the floor (keep the cat away from that area, if possible), let set for a day to absorb odors and vacuum.
