Hi,
I posted on here at the weekend about Mollie and her itchy ears. Well, we took her to the vet tonight, and the vet said her ears are crawling with earmites, and, seeing as we have no other animals, she must have come to us with them. She was 7 weeks when we got her, she's now 16 weeks. I feel so bad that she has been suffering this long without me noticing. I just never noticed her scratching exsessively.
Oh well, he has given us Auroto drops to put in - 3 drops twice a week for 4 weeks. I was just wondering whether anyone had any experience with this medicine?

Re: Treating Earmites
have never used that medicine but that doesn't mean anything...it should be ok but did your vet mention about treating the rest of the body or even just the tail...because they often sleep with their tail over theiir head and will accumoate the mites on the tail tip...might be a thought to put some of the drops on the tail but ask y9our vet cause it might not be good to have the cat ingest it..

Re: Treating Earmites
Hiya,
We also bought some Frontline, as she is due to be de-fleaed anyway, and the vet said that would be good because it would kill the mites, as sometimes at night they come out of the ear and crawl around the neck.
She already seems better today, must be a relief to have a few less crawling round in there!
