I apologize for the grossness of this question, but really need some advice. I just scooped my cat's litterbox and his poop has green slime. There were solid pieces as usual, but also soft green slime, almost like phlegm.
He's acting normal, and has a normal appetite, but I'm really worried. He does have grass--the kind you buy for cats at the pet store--and he loves it, chews at it all the time. Could that cause green slime poop? Is it normal or should I be scared?
The vet is closed till Monday, and since he isn't acting ill, I hesitate to take him to emergency. Any advice MOST welcome!
Oh--he did get into some brownies on Wednesday that I spaced off and left out, and I eyed him closely after that, as I know chocolate is bad, but he seemed okay, and that was days ago so I wouldn't expect it to be doing anything now.
Have you ever heard of poop like this? I'm sorry for how disgusting this post is. I'd be so happy if it turned out it's just what happens when a cat eats grass...
Thanks so much for any info you can give me.
