cats chronic dirty ears

Post by brandy »

Hi, Just found your board. Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with their cats ears. My calico was first treated for ear mites. Then the 'crud' came back. Our vet said it is from a yeast infection. So I've been treating as such, over and over. It keeps coming back. (i still have the same tube of medicine) The 'crud' is black and waxy and has made a home in my cats ears. There is no smell though. I just wonder what the problem is. She is a year old, and for this long I have been tending to her cruddy ears. I also use a cleaner in her ears once a week to keep them dry. Don't know if this is related, but this cat seems moist everywhere all the time. She's a drooler, her nose is wet usually. Her ears always look glossy(when they're not cruddy). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

ask or suggest that the vet run a culture cause it could be other things beside yeast etdc
