newborn kitten help

Post by missa »

I have 3 cats who are inside/outside cats so we've always had trouble keeping the fleas off. Yesterday my cat had 3 kittens and the fleas have moved to them. Is there anything I can do to get rid of them or are the kittens too young? thank you for your help.

I discovered a litter of kittens under my house with no mother a year and a half ago. They were only about 2 or 3 weeks old.

They were ate up with fleas. It was in August when I found them, so I took them out on my porch and bathed them.

The water started getting very bloody! The flies where eating them alive!

The vet told me to get one tube of flea killer (from them, not some cheap store stuff) and just put one small drop on each kitten.

It worked miracles. I think the fleas would have probably killed them if we didn't treat them.

We had to bottle feed them and wipe them so they could use the bathroom, because they were so young. Out of 6 kittens four made it.

I also gave them a bath everyday. I keep them in my bathroom while they were small and they where very messy with the litter box. Since they had no mother to clean them, we had to every day. They would all sit in the end of the tub and wait their turn. It was so cute.

Good luck with yours.
