urinary infection

How will I know if my cat has a urinary infection?

I noticed that mine was peeing outside the litter box.

She would go in the tub and on any clothes that were laying around.

I took her to the vet and he tested her urine and found blood in it.

possible signs may include :

• urination outside of litter box
  - will be in comfort zones typically since urinating will be painful
• blood in urine
• sitting or laying in litter box
• very frequent litter box visits and small amount of urine on each
• sensitive to being picked up (depending on where you pick up your cat of course)

as you can see, typical signs have to do with urinating....basically anything out of the ordinary that involves urinating. all warrant a prompt vet visit before considering behavioral possibilities as a uti can go from bad to worse quickly.
