Re: PLZ answer-Cat old age?
Please get your kitty to a new vet and demand a full blood profile, urinalysis and thyroid panel done. Any kitty over the age of 7 should have this done yearly. I also strongly suggest an x-ray and/or ECG to check heart function.
The symptoms (coughing) you describe could be anything from a serious heart condition/failure, to asthma, to heartworm, to fungal disease or other organ failure. The discharge and blood from the nose could be anything from bacterial infection, to a nasal polyp to a tumor. While at the vet, also ask him to check kitty's oral health, as diseased teeth can also cause these problems.
You said kitty has lost alot of weight, this is very concerning, coupled with the coughing and blood/discharge and breathing distress, it is imperative you get your kitty to a competent vet ASAP, there could be multiple conditions going on at once and need to be diagnosed and treated immediately. Please don't wait on this, it sounds like your kitty is really uncomfortable and suffering. He needs a full exam and full bloodwork done immediately.
