wild precious kitty!!

Post by lola »

Hi everyone. I just got a new precious kitty, about 8 weeks old. she is totally healthy and happy, very active. but she's into everything, as she should be, but i was just wondering if anyone had suggestions on how to get her to mind better, not be into things she's not supposed to or how to calm her down when she's totally wild. i try time out, but when she gets out she wilder than before. like i said she's totally healthy in every way, so i just need suggestions on how to safely make her a little less wild at times!! thanks a million!!

I've had similar experiences with my Josie in the past. She's 5 months old now and still as active as ever before.

If Josie gets too wild, I put her in the bathroom (kitty proof) and turn the light off. That's where her bed and litter box are also. Don't leave them in too long though unless they have food & water, but I usually put her in for 30 minutes to an hour without any. She usually comes out purring and ready to be sweet.

Another thing that I've found that works with my kitten . . . she loves to hide under blankets, so if she's really hyped, I either make a tent with a blanket that she can climb into and play or just throw a light blanket over her. She plays a little but then she always falls asleep. Must be warm under there. That seems to always work.

Good luck with your new kitten! They are precious, so much fun at that age!
