O.k I was wondering if anyone could help me with a big problem that I have...
My 12 month old cat has just had kittens, they are 3 weeks old today. But unfortunately last night two of the three kittens unexpectedly passed away. They became sick very quickly, the first was constantly falling over and crying, we presumed that the mother had dropped one while she was carting them around. After about 5 hours the kitten moved very little and constantly cried, her breathing became very heavy and she squirmed around in pain. Eventually her body gave out and she seemed to spasm, even after she had stopped breathing her body continued to spasm. Then about two hours later the second kitten became very docile and just flopped, her eyes remained open and she continued to breathe but she didn't seem as though she could see me. She layed still for about an hour and then she too started to spasm and cry in pain, just like the first kitten her body continued to move after death. The deaths were very cruel but there was nothing we could do that seemed to help. I couldn't take them to the vet as they had gotten sick very late at night and died very quickly. I'm not sure the vet can do anything to a 3 week old kitten. I'm extremely concerned for the runt of the litter now, she has shown no symptons but neither had the others, they had been struck down so quickly. If you know what has happened is there something I can do to prevent the other one from getting sick as I dearly want to keep it.
Thankyou
In dire need, please help
Re: In dire need, please help
Please, please, please take this baby to the vet right away. There is no way that anyone could diagnose, and certainly not treat, this problem over the internet. I'm so sorry that you have been through such an ordeal, but I hope that you can stop it from happening to the one you have left. Also consider having your momma cat spayed as soon as possible so that this does not happen again. Good luck. kk

I certainly agree with KK but might add, you probably should take mom cat to vet with you, she should be checked out I would think. Is it possible she could have ingested something bad and kittens got it through her milk? Wanda
