My cat has been vomiting alot!

Post by MCF »

One night last week, we woke up and found our cat threw up about 10 times during the night. We took her to the vet the next day, and we tried a few pills first... In the next couple days, she kept vomiting , although usually 3-4 times, and usually all in one time period (sometimes all during the day, sometimes during evening.. not usually ALL THE TIME). I'm thinking its a period after she eats that she starts getting sick.

She is now avoiding her litter box, and still getting sick a couple times a day. She does go to her litter, but occasionally she wont.

We have to take her into the vet again ASAP, problem is, we were hit with a giant snowstorm and have been stuck in our house for days, and its likely we wont see a vet until Monday. In the meantime, we are pretty worried about her, and was wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone. Except for the vomiting, she is her normal self, walking around, doesnt seem sick. But she just keeps vomiting. it SOUNDS like a worm of some sort..

Any help would be great...

Thanks

Mark

just a guess but it could be such a =simple thing as hair balls (trichobezars -sp-) or a complicated gastrities..i would kind limit her intak of food to the minimum and get her checked as soon as possible..anything from hair balls, tosock, stockings, or all the fun things that cats liek to eat...but get her check as soon as the snow lets you...

I hope you will be able to get her to the vets tomorrow. As Davet suggests, it could be any number of things. Only your vet will be able to determine the cause through a possible series of diagnostics.

Here is a link that may be of some interest:

I hope it's nothing serious and please let us know what your vet says, ok?
Kitty kisses,
Debbie

My kitty was vomitting a lot too - almost always about 5 to 6 hours after he ate - all else was normal.. It ends up that he has Irratible Bowel Disease and I've been given a special diet & have had him on 1/2 a human pepcid tab once a day - and he's gotten better.

Hope you get to the vet & it turns out to be nothing.
