kitten pregnant?

Post by Beckysa »

:?: Please can anyone advise? I have a kitten, she was born on 11th October 2003 so is just 4 months old. Last week she started to display signs of being on heat, (calling, rolling around etc.) On Wednesday night she didn't come in but stayed out all night. The next day she stopped displaying signs of being on heat and has not done since. Now her nipples are very swollen. Is it possible that she is pregnant at such a young age or is there something wrong with her to make her nipples swell? I have never heard of a cat being pregnant so young and she is very tiny. If she is pregnant, can she be spayed as I am sure it would be very dangerous for her to give birth so young and so small?

Many thanks

cats never follow the rules...if would be unusual to be pregnat at this age and yet to show signs so closly after heat..she can be spayed any time but the sooner the better...it is possible that yshe may be going through a pseudocyesis ( fals pregnancy) but again unusuall...but get her spayed, like tomorrow or whenever possible..
