I think my cats might have a respitory infection?

Hi I am new to this forum. This happened about 3 days ago my little kitten " Sasha" was suffering from sneezing and coughing and a little weight loss. But she got over it in a few days. Now my other kittne Hissy has it and he is not doing as well as the other one. And the worse part is I have 10 cats and i think it spread to most of them. Is there anything I can do. Is this thing possibly fatal. All my cats are outdoor cats. I have thought of a vet but it would be far to expensive. Please Help.

We cannot advise anything beyond seeing your vet....you don't know for certain if this is an upper respiratory infection or something else entirely. Since your cats are outdoors and you have so many of them, this could be anything from respiratory to bacterial, to viral infectious disease. Take the kitten who seems ill into your vet for a complete exam, he will probably prescribe antibiotics for him as well as your other cats.

Yes, in tiny young kittens, untreated upper respiratory infections that lead to secondary bacterial infections can be deadly, don't take that risk with your kittens OR your adult cats. If none of your kittens or cats have been vaccinated or are not current on vaccinations, you are risking their health..even a mild upper respiratory infection can develop into worsening conditions even in adult cats who have never been vaccinated (poor immune systems susceptible to a variety of illnesses, including fatal distemper, FELV, FIV, FIP, etc)
