Exercise Tips for Rascal

Post by Yzma »

Hi guys....

Remember that cat i was telling you about who is really overweight?
(Rascal)

Well ... i was wondering if you could help me come up with some exercise tips for his owners. He lives in a balinese furniture shop with a staircase... and yes he is on vet prescribed low calorie food.

He is pretty old though. I think he's about 10-12 years old...

So too much exercise all at once might not be good right?

Any suggestions?

Assuming you have read this....http://www.cathelp-online.com/phpBB2/vi ... php?t=2842

Yzma, the vet needs to calculate the dietary requirement/feeding amounts for this kitty in particular, bloodwork needs to be done prior to an extensive weight management plan, and the vet is the only one who can advise the owner on proper exercise and/or limitations of exercise at this point. Kitty's general health status must be established by the vet before any of us here can advise on tips. The entire process needs to be done slowly, cautiously, and with frequent followups and weight checks by the vet.

I've forwarded this link to Rascal's owners.
Hopefully they will take note.

And yes i did read the link... I was just wondering what they could do in the event their vet does say that he needs some exercise...
