Much more frisky after being neutered??
Much more frisky after being neutered??
Does anyone know if there is a reason why Gilbert is so much more frisky and energetic after being neutered? A hormonal reason or something? He seems so much happier and more playful than ever. He was neutered about a month ago. My husband thinks he's gone crazy but I can tell that he is just playing. Thanks!!

Jason,
He was neutered about a month ago I think, early Nov. it was. He just seems so much more affectionate and peppy than he ever was before. I know he was healthy before so I am thinking maybe his hormonal changes with the neutering have just made him a happier boy. Ya think? Thanks, Lori

this is kinda the philophy my brother had,,when ever he castrated bulls and the farmer asked why it is done, He would tell them it took their mind of As- and put it on grass...maybe the cat is just plain happy that he does not longer worry about paranting....just a theory

possibly, i wanted to be sure your were not noticing this behavior days later (possible aggrevation). my boy cat does seem a little more affectionate as well, but everything else about him is the same.Lori, Ashley & Gilbert wrote:I know he was healthy before so I am thinking maybe his hormonal changes with the neutering have just made him a happier boy.
