10 Week old Siamese Mix Babies Health?

Post by MommyHuggs&Heavynn »

Hi,
I am new to the board, i recently got two beautiful siamese mix kittens and they are 10 weeks today. However, i did not get any paper work for them, i rescued them from a foster home out of state. The woman told me they have been tested for FIV and came back negative. She also said they were de-wormed and treated for fleas. I haven't made an appointment with a vet yet, the kittens seem to be in great health. Very active, and eat a well balanced diet as well as use their litterbox. One problem i am wondering if i should be concerned about... My little boy Huggs has a dry discharge everyday at the base of his nostrils which is a dark brown to blackish color. I use a warm wet cloth everyday to clean it, and it does not block his nasal passages. Is this something i should be concerned about? I should mention these are strictly indoor kittens. Thanks in advance!

Please definately get them checked by your vet as soon as possible (NEVER rely on a third party for legitimate health exam, without proof of a health certificate from the prior vet, etc, you have no way of knowing if these kittens were in fact, seen, treated, etc as you were told)

The discharge could be anything from a viral to bacterial infection....in young kittens, you don't want to take the risk of something developing that is going undiagnosed.
