but,So, I've had Kala for aoubt 3 years. She's a great cat and seems healthy and happy. For the first 2 years she was perfectly house broken. Then some stressors (moving, me being gone more) caused her to start peeing outside the litter box.
Long story short, I've tried everything and she won't stop. We've done tests for UTI's and she has none.
The interesting aspect of this problem is that she only pees on furniture that me and my partner are always using. For example she always pees on our bed and on the couch where we always sit. She may pee on the carpet every now and then, but mostly just in places where we want to be! and of course she never pees on HER favorite chair. Does she secretly hate us? She'll even pee on us when we're laying in bed!! but then purr right afterwards....
We've tried everything (using enzyme sprays, cleaning the litter box obsessively, even getting a new matress and couch!). We would never get rid of Kala, but I don't know how to stop this problem other than platic wrapping everything!
