I think Gretchen may be in heat

I'm not totally sure, but her behavior over the last couple of days has been quite annoying. She is constanting her little throaty meow...I don't know how to explain it (we call it a "purrrttt") and when she is confined for the night in their room she just sits there and does that lonesome yowl...not to mention she lays down on the floor with her butt kind of up in the air. She's also seeking much more attention than before

Sound like she's in heat??

Hi! How old is your kitty? Every action you describe is totally consistent with being in heat. Prepare yourself, things will get worse.

Ron...not sure how old she is...she's the foster kitty that has a litter of 5 week old kittens

Probably about time to take her in to be spayed and put up for adoption

Yikes! That doesn't sound good, does it?

Are the kittens weaned yet? Seems like it's too early to have her spayed. I'm not having any luck weaning my guys, but I guess sooner or later they'll get hungry enough. They just want mom right now.

Sure sounds like she's in heat to me, and still nursing...not a good combo. No wonder she looks like she was trying to shake off those kittens in that picture, LOL! Hope you can get her spayed soon!

I could call the vet today and let them know what is up with her, but I've just felt lousy all day...and it's my birthday of all days to feel lousy...sore throat, headache, aches...ugh

I'll be in touch with them this week at any rate...will see what happens
