Cassie has developed a talent for closing doors, she learned how and now it's her favorite thing to do. the problem is that she ends up locking herself in the room and I cannot have food, water and litter in every room. She also shut the door on Sammy's tail today. I am afraid of one of them getting hurt. I tried door stops yesterday, but that just just added a toy in the closing doors game, so, today I put kitchen chairs holding the doors open so she knocked it down and locked herself in the bathroom. Does any-one have any idea's? I can't keep them closed because I don't think that it would be a good idea to lock them up either together or apart. It is funny watching her close them though Cat's sure do have many talents
Thanks,
Heidi

Re: Kitten closing doors
My cats do this too!! We put toddler stops on the doors. They are these foam thingies that just slip over the edge of the door so that they don't close all the way. Definately not damaging to the door and saves tails and messes!!! Wal-Mart carries them and so does most toy stores.

Toddler stops are a good idea. You can also try simple latch hooks. Hardware stores carry them usually with the locks, doorknobs ....
Good luck!

Your post is funny, as my 5 year old Honeybun locks herself in the bathroom at night sometimes. I hear her scratching and meowing to get out. I will try those toddler stops or latches on the door.
On the other hand my kitten Chloe (5 months) tries to open doors when she is inside my daughter's bedroom. She jumps at the handles and pushes them with her paws.
