Spaying strays after pregnancy/birth...

Post by peanut »

I was wondering how soon after a cat gives birth can they be spayed? I know I have to wait until the kittens are weaned but am not sure how much longer after that I have to wait.

weaned or are weanable,,in fact if by c-section, they can be spayed at the same time and still nurse the kittens...cats can become pregnant while they are nursing which can present a dilemma but the general rule is to do it post weaning....they only problem at that time is that the mammary glands may still be engorged which make suturing the incision a little difficult.
