Maximus wont stop biting!!

I thought it was a kitten thing and I took him to the vet he blamed play aggression but I honestly think Max is just mean!

Help please!!! I don't like being bitten all the time!

He bites ankles, toes and elbows...

and hands if you pick him up .. the other stuff is just whenever he wants.

How old is he?

My kitten Chloe bites if you rub her tummy etc, but she is teething and is about 31/2 months old. I give her a toy and say no firmly it has helped.

I hope it gets better for you.

Nah, 5 months old is still a kitten, he's just toying around with ya at this age. Muffy was like that so did Lucky in the past, they were aggressive kittens back then, I would scream at him, "NOOOOOO!" They spooked and got puzzled and crept back in embarrassment, you coulda seen their faces. So embarrassed, their face turned red. And then they walked up to me by my legs and meooowwed, as to say, they're sorry. Then once I picked 'em up, talked to 'em, they stopped biting. They need leaders, so you are both: meowmie and a leader, you need to keep leading him to the right path, then Max will stop. He's just wanna to rough his :D meowmie up for fun. I know it's hurt, but it'll pass when he gets a bit older. Give him toys or sumthin and don't forget not to flicker your eyelashes, they tend to play attack someone who flickers their eye lashes. They have a sharp hearing more than we do. Good luck on Max. :D

exactly why not to scream, more than the point will get across to them.

Ooops..but it did work on my cats..they are used to us because they know we're hearing-impaired and deaf couple. That was many years ago when Muffy was 5 months old back in 1999, and Lucky was 5 months old back in 1990. Once the word, "No", they stopped..and started to heed the word...so far, they are (Lucky was) well behaved. :-) Oh, well. But they did tumbled backward with their tails up in a funny way, ears spooked pointed up and eyes widened in puzzlement, they got the message loud and clear. I shoulda take pics of 'em. Since I would never think of spanking 'em or do what sum wackos do. They're lovable and huggable creatures. :)

Does pushing him away when he is biting have the same effect as hitting. (negative, makes them want to attack more)

Cuz somtimes I do that.

I also put him in his bathroom for a time out when he bites sometimes. Not everytime cuz then he'd spend a lot of time in there.

I just go in another room myself sometimes.

(he is being SOO cute right now... passed out on my desk)

its all in "how its done and the tempermant of your kitty"....as in all things, moderation is key.

this is how i primarily discipline my tough boy rocky. he goes in the office for "time out", usually about 20-30 minutes (litter and water is available). point is to take him there as quickly as possible when an offense is made otherwise he wont "get it". the majority of his bad behaviors are now rare and it take little more than a look from me and he pretty much runs to the office on his own now.

btw., he doesnt bite....he likes to rough house with the princess...java.

Well he isnt drawing blood or anything....

Its more like a sharp piercing pain like if someone poked me with a needle.

See the only place I have to put him is a bathroom with no windows.. it gets kinda hot in there so I dont like to put him in there everytime he bites cuz if its during the night when Im sleeping I sometimes fall back to sleep and forget him in there.

He bites most nights too...

*sigh*

Hopefully he will grow out of it.
