It depends on the type of interferon. I.e., a specific type of human interferon can be given orally to cats and dogs. Hasn't your vet instructed you on this? Interferon must be mixed properly, stored properly etc and given on a specific schedule (an example, 7 days on medication, then 7 days off, this is only an example), it depends on the condition/disease being treated, the extent of the disease and the response, if any.

What is your vet saying? Is your kitty FELV or FIV positive, and/or was he/she properly tested? What other info can you provide? Please remember that interferon is not without some risks, and in some cases may not prove to be effective. Early treatment is best, strict monitorization and followup on bloodwork and other care/treatment are essential.
