Anyone heard of kile??

Post by cclady8 »

I'm not sure that is how it is spelled. Im trying to figure out more information on it. Its kile or kyle (sounds like the name Kyle) . The vet said it was very rare and had very little information on it. Does anyone know about it or what it is? What could cause it? Anything????

Sorry. Got interrupted and had to go offline. From the brief time I looked at the subject, have the impression it may be connected with west nile?

I assume you are referring to chyle, as in chylothorax. If this is true, you need a new vet. Chylothorax is caused by seeping/spreading bacteria, usually via the intestinal tract but could also be from a diseased organ or a cyst in or around an organ, etc.

Chylothorax can be treated successfully if appropriate diagnostics are persued, and treatment is initiated RIGHT AWAY! Get your kitty to a new, more experienced, feline-only vet or a qualified, well-established emergency vet faciity IMMEDIATELY!
